Time sure flies when you are freaking busy at work. Been leaving office late almost everyday. Felt so drained out that for the past 2 weekends, we were just slacking at home. Bloody tiring man. Doesn't help that almost everyday, we read in the papers how prices of rice, oil etc are increasing.

While i thank the reporters out there for their dedication in filling us with all these information. I wish they would stop already. It is getting on my nerves. Too depressing. Sure the prices have all gone up. But at the rate all of us are slogging at work, we deserve our Gardenia breads, Song He or Royal Umbrella rice, Ben & Jerry's or Haagen Daaz's ice creams.

I try not to be materialistic or brand-conscious. But as a Singaporean coming from a middle-class family, i am just the typical lady who works her ass off 5 days every week. Who doesn't get to spend as much time with her family. Who is jealous of her helper for being able to see her own son growing up. Who sometimes feel like kicking herself for being too tired to even read her son his bedtime stories. Who have not had the chance to accompany him for his school's field trips like the other parents.

So yes, don't blame me if i want to use that hard-earned money to send my son to better schools, enrichment programs. Don't blame me if i still buy Gardenia, Song He, B&J ice-cream despite the papers telling us housebrands taste the same. Don't blame me if i splurge on Fendi, LV or Coach bags. Don't blame me or my husband if we are big on vacations.

Alhamdulillah, we do not have any loans or overdraft. Our credit card and other bills are promptly paid. We have insurance for all 3 of us. And yes, we do save.

Sigh... we just need to assure ourselves that all that hard work is worth it. Especially when it comes to Hilman. It is immensely satisfying when we see Hilman able to identify so many new things. Each week he never fails to surprise us with something new. There are times where we do not even have the answers to provide him. And the daddy's even thinking of sending him for piano lessons now. The perks of being the 1st child..

We hardly have quality time together as a family. With me working office hours and Fithri on shifts. There are days when we do not see each other for almost 2 days! So yes, these short trips are like a breather to us. And a chance to be together like a normal family. With us turning in at the same time. See, even that is like a privilege to us.

Anyway,Thank god the month's coming to an end and we will be away and will be having our well-deserved break. Yippee!!! So much to look forward to this week. Today is my dad's birthday. Got him and mom a pair of P Ramlee musical tickets. Which i think they would enjoy. Hopefully it would be as good as the Puteri Gunung Ledang musical which Fithri and I really love.

And my baby's officially turning 3 on Tuesday where he will be celebrating with his classmates. And thursday is his birthday bash and of course friday we are leaving all this madness. We are headed to the Island of Paradise, Bali. Hurray!!

Anyway, I am so gonna make up for lost time this weekend. First up is a family dinner later to celebrate dad's birthday followed by a Saturday night date with the husband. And tomorrow we decided to pay a long overdue visit to the Zoo!!! Haha.. Last time we went was err.. last year?? But in between we did went to the Night Safari (which i felt was a rip-off!) and there was the Taman Safari in Indonesia. Which was way cooler than the zoo anytime, i think. Hey, yah in Bali there is a newly-opened safari park too. Supposed to be very good and its concept is similar to those in Africa.

And tomorrow night, I have promised the husband to check out some performances in Esplanade. I have been wanting to check out this Malaysian guy too. Been hearing nothing but compliments from Fithri.

By the way, i just came to know the American Idol's results. I watched the performance show. So i am shocked that Carly's out. Major travesty. I am not her biggest supporter but Brooke and that rasta wannabe, Jason should have been given the boot instead. Oh well, at least the gorgeous David Cook's still in :)

Actually i haven't been watching much tv these days. I am glued to my korean dvds. Just finished watching another 2 dramas. At this rate, i should start running a rental shop. I have got more than 10 sets at last count. Or maybe i should sell some to Cash Converter and buy new ones. Haha..

I know. I am such a sucker for K-dramas. I like~!!! I am just a sappy girl at heart who is a sucker for romance. That is why my poor husband has to keep thinking of creative ideas to impress me. While other girls turn to retail therapy to destress, I turn to my korean dramas ;)
