Ok i tink it's been quite sometime since my last post. Been swamped with work (like duh!) and every wkend there was either a birthday party, kenduri or of course, wedding or engagement function to attend. Afterall, to quote my own Mama - "it's sunat for those who invite but wajib for those invited to attend".

Let's see... what have we been up to the past mth? Ok we went to the APM. Or rather I went with my oldest girlfriend, Musliha. Now what I meant by oldest is not based on the age okies? Our friendship started all the way back since our Henry Park Primary days. When we were the Henriettas. Haha.. so corny man! Well anyway, if i were to rate the whole show, I'd give it a 1.5 out of 5 stars. I am not even going to elaborate. It's like so history.

And another highlight was my very own lovely cousin's engagement. Above are some pics..

Wahh i think the market rate for hantaran is getting steeper and steeper man. This mth alone, 2 couples i know - their hantaran was $15k. One is a doctor couple and the other is a teacher couple. The former even threw in an RX3. Sports car liao, dun play play!!! In fact, the highest I have heard so far is $17k!! A male cousin of mine commented - "Nie macam aku takyah kawin pun takper.." Hehee..

No worries, cuz. If the girl and her folks are understanding enuff, they wont even touch the hantaran money. These days, it's all abt the MONEY. After marriage especially, we wives will feel the pinch too. I think most couples around me use their hantaran money for home renovation or household stuffs etc. Yours truly included. Think most imptly, dont go beyond your budget. Heard some guys have to take loan from parents, relatives, siblings just to meet the hantaran money. Then obviously after the wedding, must pay back right? Aiyoohhh.. Well anyway, to each his/her own lah. But i seriously wont want to be saddled with debts straight after marriage.

I guess I am one of those who dont go shopping every mth. I recycle my wardrobe for at least half a yr before going on a major shopping spree. I dont really enjoy window-shopping and i dont fancy buying new clothes. I buy new shoes only when my old ones are beyond repair. And neither do I fancy bags. Sure i love Coach. But i buy them sporadically. And I am not really big on sales. Come to think of it, I have yet to check out the GSS Sale. Between me and my hubby, he is the fashion lover and i am the food lover. Hahaha...

Oh but there is one thing that I will spend on without thinking twice. Besides food, I also love to splurge on HOLIDAYS!!! I am big on vacations. I like...!!!! In fact, for Hub's b'day, I am thinking of surprising him with a weekend getaway to nearby islands. Definitely not Bintan. Didnt really like the beaches there. More like Phi Phi Island, Koh Samui or Phuket. If money is no object, Maldives or Mauritius would be nice too. Hehe.. Bali would be nice but I am still freaked out over the Bali bombing incidents.

Ok enuff abt me and Hubby.. Hilman has started his new term with Nurture Cove. So far, alhamdulillah, he seems to be able to settle down. I was the nervous and excited one. On the 1st day, me and Bibik stayed around the school for the whole of 2.5 hours. Took some sneaks to check out what the boy is up to. Haha..

Seems that on the 1st day another student had the exact same water bottle as his. So in his excitement, he snatched away that poor boy's bottle. So what did the Mommy do? Bought him a new one of course! I know, I know.. it isnt really the correct method. But what to do? He is only 2! Give him a break..

And i was so proud of him. On the 1st day, we were late and had to rush. Thus, no time for proper goodbyes. Just a quick hug and kiss before the teachers gently pulled him inside. He was the last to arrive. And I could here loud wailings coming from inside the classroom. Amazingly, he didnt cry at all. And hrmph! He didnt look for me! The teachers were very swift in diverting his attention to the play materials. In between the glass doors, I could see him playing alone although his eyes were fixed on the crying kids. And after class was over, all the kids were waiting excitedly for their caregivers to fetch him. Guess what our Hilman was doing?

I couldnt find him among the excited kids at the entrance. So i had to step in to find him. And there he was happily reading at a corner with one of the teachers. So funny when the teacher tried to stand up, he pulled her back. Asked her to continue reading with him. That's so typical of him. Hehe..

Well it'll soon be July. Cant believe it. So fast man. Feel that it wasnt too long ago, we went to see the New Year fireworks. Speaking of fireworks, last week we saw fireworks 3 nights in a row!!! Happening right?? First 2 nights were in the comfort of our own crib. From our living room, we could see the fireworks. Eversince we live here, every year without fail, there will be fireworks. And till now we dont know where they came from. And last Sat night, we were cruising along the ECP when we saw yet another round of fireworks. ANd this Sat, we will be bringing Hilman this Sat to the National Stadium. Where I believe in the finale, there will be fireworks!!
