Happy Birthday To Me
As mentioned in my previous post, my birthday celebration this year didn't include any weekend stay in swanky hotels. That's cos yours truly had wanted it to be a very simple affair.
And well, it was truly the best celebration i had so far. It started with a cable car joyride. Which was so cool since i haven't been on one since primary school. Of course I did took cable car rides in New Zealand, Sydney etc. But guess wat? It's just not the same.
And we also had a simple dinner with my parents and younger brother. The elder one couldn't make it due to work commitment. The dinner concluded with a surprise birthday cake from Awfully Chocolate and a bouquet of pink roses. Courtesy of my hubby. It has been a while since I celebrated my birthday with my own family. Hmm i think it has been a long time... Since my 21st birthday i think.
And at the stroke of 12 midnight of 9th december... nahh just kidding... more like 1.30am actually. After having to wait in anticipation for the whole day, the birthday gal finally got her gift at a certain popular beach in the East.Actually i had warned the husband not to get me any expensive gift. Esp since he had already bought me an LV wallet from France. But well.. after seeing the gift, I just melted. Yup i did.
It is not the 1st time he got me a ring. But each ring has a meaning to it. 1st one was my Engagement Ring. Which i lost. 2nd one was my Wedding Ring. The diamond came off and was never found. 3rd one ... well was also a Birthday Ring. By that time, the Husband has given up hope on me i think. So it was like goodbye, (big) rocks and hello, (smaller) rocks kinda thing. So it came as a shock to me to get this beautiful ring. And it was of a similar setting to my Engagement Ring. I have been looking for it the past year but none captured my heart like this one did.
So THANK YOU, BABY... It was really a blast... I hope i shall live up to my promise to take care of this ring.. hehe ;p

See how sinful the chocolate cake is? It has since
added on another layer to my hip :(

Dinner @ The Carousel

I really love the table setting. Cool.

Oh man! I am turning 27... Kinda freaks me out. Wont be long before i turn 30. Call me paranoid. I have switched to anti-aging facial products a few months back. Read somewhere that women should start taking really good care of their skin at the age of 25. That makes me 2 years a little late. Haha..

I was actually hoping that we could go to Jakarta / Bandung / Puncak for a weekend getaway. But I couldn't get leave since it was all last minute. So hopefully we will go next year instead. (Err hubby : i STILL wanna go to NZ though. If ada rezeki lah...)

Hmm anyway, it is the school break for the little one. He has been asking for his teachers. Ms Zu, Ms Fairus & gang. Ain't that cute??

Anyhow, i enrolled him in I-Can-Read over at the Jurong centre. He seems to enjoy his lessons. One reason's probably because of the small class. And he gets all the attention. Haha..

I have yet to decide whether he should continue at the CCK Montessori. 350 per mth (excluding transportation) is a tad bit too ex for pre-school education. More importantly, I am beginning to realise my son cant speak much Malay! That's bad.. Sure, I can't say I am very proud of my oral Malay either. But at least I scored a Distinction for my O's oral Malay and A1 for my written paper. Don't ask me how! And my Dad's a retired Malay teacher hor! So embarrassing if the cucu cannot speak much in Malay.

Just this morning, the 3 of us were snuggling in bed. The daddy was tickling him and he kept begging for the dad to stop. When his pleas were ignored, he switched to ask in Malay instead. It would have been alright if he had said "Jangan" or "Berhenti". My poor son was instead saying "Bukan". Oh well. Enough's said.

Oh well. There is still time for us to ponder and decide. In the meantime, it is Moi's birthday. Actually i'll officially be 27 tomorrow. But waddaheck. It's once per year. And the husband is bringing us to Sentosa to take the cable car. After which, we are going for a party for my nephew and followed by a birthday celebration dinner with my parents and siblings.

Yup, no overnight stays at a luxury hotel for me this year. U get sick of it after a while. Plus i'd rather have the money saved for a real holiday. Hehe :p
