Is time passing by really super fast?? Or is my life so hectic that I don't realise time passing by so quickly?? I tot we just started fasting like yesterday. And I was so shocked to hear Raya songs being played on the airwaves already. And yup, Bibik has confirmed that we are left with abt 2 wks of Ramadhan.
The beautiful sacred month of Ramadhan. Ramadhan and Syawal are my 2 fave mths in the Islamic Calendar. The 2 mths that are dearest and most meaningful to me. Each yr comes with lovely memories that I shall always find dear to me.
Last Friday we had CK over when we buka puasa. He broke the news that he will be leaving for Idaho, USA next mth for a yr. Our family will definitely miss him. No Uncle CK to play with Hilman, come over for dinner, help to surprise Papa on his birthday. But on a positive note, i envy him for having the luck to gain experiences abroad. For free, you know!! Let's see.. so far HP has sent him to Japan, USA.. where next?
Abah suggested for us to visit him next yr. But CK himself said it is a dead place. And if I were to go the US of A, I would wanna check out Niagara Falls, Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. I am very sure Hubs is inclined to agree as well. Dun mind gg to Disneyland and Disneyworld too. But too bad, Hubby aint interested in theme parks. But Universal Studios is definitely a must-go. I am still so pissed with myself for not going to the temple in Hollywood. And instead was so bz buying celebs pics for souvenirs for friends. How dumb can I get? Sheesh~~
By the way, we decided to watch Little Miss Sunshine in the end. Show was surprisingly good. I was expecting it to be a dialogue movie. But the acting was superb! Simple storyline abt a dysfunctional family. But.. trust me, it is worth the money spent. Throw in some Nachos or popcorn too ;p
Last nyte, we buka with my in-laws at Al-Ameen. Food was great! Served hot just before the azan. And then we headed to Causeway Pt. Atok bought for Hil the original Crocs. Wahh.. for a pair of slippers (more like sandals), it sure is quite ex. Almost $50 bucks. Same price as a pair of Nike or Adidas! And Mama bought for us new bedspreads at Aussino!! Very pretty, hokay??
Which reminds me, we have yet to decide what shoes to get for our baby for Raya - Adidas, Nike or Collette? The soles for Adidas and Nike are like too hard for toddlers. So guess Collette is a wiser choice. Although the Adidas shoes we were eyeing is way super cute!! But common sense shall prevail~~
Personally, i am not into buying expensive clothings or shoes for children. Especially at a young age. They will outgrow the clothes so quickly. So not worth it. But i guess, for Raya, i shall bend my own rules a bit. Hehe..
Well, gotta go back to the kitchen to help out. Bibik is preparing the Sup Tulang. And Papa is preparing the Baked Macaroni n Cheese. We are heading to Parc Oasis to buka later. Wonder what Yai n Nyai have whipped up for us, eh??
Cant resist making a final comment - Geylang seems to have lost its magic. Went there once. But it was just not the same. I miss the Pasar. That was the most happening area. With the many, many rows of food stalls and self-proclaimed Raja Lelongs with their loudspeakers vying for yr attn. All those are missing this yr. So sad.
And puh-leeeze dun let me start on the Suria Raya Carnival over in Bugis. Maybe I shall try persuade Hubs to go over JB. Tink it is more happening there. :)
